Horizon Community Funds Postpones Two Upcoming Events

Horizon Community Funds and its committees for two upcoming events have been closely monitoring developments related to health protocols and government declarations for COVID-19. In order to help prevent the spread of the virus in Northern Kentucky and to maintain the health of its attendees, the 2020 NKY Philanthropy Symposium, originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, and Give Where You Live NKY, originally scheduled for Thursday, March 19, will now both be held in June.

The 410 Grants More than $13,000 to Southbank Partners for New Murals

Nearly 100 community members involved with The 410 and with the Newport Business Association gathered at New Riff Distilling to present a check for $13,120 to Southbank Partners.

The 410, Horizon Community Funds’ newest giving circle, voted to fund Southbank Partners’ upcoming mural project, which will commemorate the city of Newport’s 225th anniversary in 2020.

2019 NKY Funders’ Grants Finalists Announced

NKY Funders’ Grants, an ongoing program that convenes foundations and funders around grant competitions for nonprofits that serve Northern Kentucky, has released its list of finalists for the pitch competition to be held Tuesday, October 29 from 5:00-7:30 p.m. at the St. Elizabeth Training and Education Center in Erlanger.

Give Where You Live NKY Awards Third “Speed Philanthropy” Grant

On Thursday, September 19, nearly 60 strangers and friends alike joined together at Bircus Brewing to give $6,000 to a local charity in a process that took less than an hour. Member votes resulted in a tie, with Covington’s Dolly Parton Imagination Library (through the Notre Dame Urban Education Council) and Lucky Tales Rescue coming out on top.
